The Russian Ministry of Defence released a video showing the conclusion of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) competition to select the best mechanic-driver of the autonomous PGRK “Yars” launch vehicle, held in the Ivanovo region.
Over the course of a week, the contestants — chosen from among the best mechanic-drivers of missile units — faced precision and speed tests in driving, navigating through narrow passages, artificial and natural obstacles, as well as a simulated contaminated area.

In addition to practical tests, participants were also evaluated on exams covering traffic regulations, technical characteristics, and the structure of the “Yars” mobile missile complex.
The final stages included theoretical tests, compliance with chemical, biological and radiological (CBRN) protection standards, assessment of soldiers’ physical readiness, and shooting training.

The video released by the Ministry shows the heavy vehicles manoeuvring in challenging terrain, highlighting the importance of operator training for the combat readiness of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces.
